in the league. they finish fourth or third way behind manchester. then you got chelsea and arsenal in the fight. in spain year in and out its really just barca and real and ofcourse you will have either valencia or sevilla or atletico in it. but its really barca and real every year.

barbarash. please tell me what is behind your rivalry? behind Real vs Barca is a CIVIL WAR! tell me whats behind yours tell why its a rivalry to begin with? and just so you know im not from spain. Im from the US and if anything I should be biased towards England cause here thats all they talk about. look it up. There is no game that is watched more than Real vs Barca in the world. besides its more intense as they are usually 1 and 2 in their league. for the past ten years liverpool has sucked

Don't say things you can't back up. The premiership gets on average over a billion viewers each weekend and no game is bigger in England that Liverpool v United. The Spanish leagues viewiership is something like 200 million a week. Like I say if you don't live in England you can't comment on the Liverpool v United rivalry its every much as intense as Real v Barca as both cities HATE each other. If you are from Spain your going to be biased towards Real v Barca so your opinions are distorted.

1st i think real-barca is bigger than manu-pool cuz in spain always has been barca and real fighting and manu has been to division 2, 2nd there has been Spain vs Catalonia at political level and if you see ig got heated up when spains presedent or king i dont know well set up the transfer of alfredo di stefano best real madrid player and he should have gone to barca they had signet a contract already so i think its bigger

Not here to bash any country or leagues. But Liverpool vs Man U doesn't compare to the history in Real Madrid vs Barcelona. Real vs Barca isnt just a soccer rivalry. it stands for the spanish revolution. Barcelona (the city) claims it is not part of spain, but from Cataluna. So in a sense this is Spain vs Cataluna. and there is much personal hatred in this game. its hatred inside the field and even much more outside. and by the way, this is the game that has more viewers every year worldwide

Liverpool v Man U (Being a Liverpool fan)is as intense as it gets. But I'd say both derby's are around equal, they equally hate each other, they are 4 of the biggest clubs in the world. So its really hard to say which one is 'bigger' though the Premier League is far more watched than La Liga around the world so you could say Liverpool/United has more global appeal, I guess it comes down to who you support and what country you are from to view which one is larger.

Usually Derby describes matches between local teams, Madrid and Barcelona are 300 miles away from each other.
