This is the scene in Dragon Ball Z where SS2 Gohan and Super Perfect Cell end it all with a final beam struggle. At first, they're clearly even in power [due in part to Gohan's injuries]. However, as the beam struggle progresses Gohan starts to lose his confidence, and Cell continues to overpower him. Piccolo, Krillin & the others all join in to help Gohan, by attacking Cell from behind. Unfortunately, they're owned by Cell's aura. Near the end of the beamstruggle, Vegeta catches Cell off guard and nails him in the back with a -generic Ki-blast-, which temporarily distracts, and wounds Cell. The blast's name is debatable. Considering Vegeta went Super Saiyan before hand contradicts the manga, where Vegeta fires the blast without using Super Saiyan. The blast was obviously strong enough to shock Cell; it nearly caused him to collapse, and drastically disrupted the whole cycle of his aura. Fortunately, Gohan sees the chance and takes it, by throwing all of his energy at once into the beam. With Cell's attention momentarily diverted, Gohan was able to finish Cell. Had it not been for those few moments, Cell would have destroyed the whole earth. Cell's beam was clearly too far along to be reversed as quickly, without the distraction. It would've become a neverending game of ping pong in slow motion. Why argue it though, we know Gohan had more power.. he just didn't use it until Cell fully lost his focus. Secondary theories/opinions: Here's an analogy: You're armwrestling a friend. Any sort of distraction may cause you to lose, but being hit in the back with a soccer ball or a taser, will surely cause you to drop your defenses long enough for your friend to overpower you and win. So a distraction can go a long way. ------------ I love the way the characters are drawn and animated in this episode. Whoever the group was who animated this episode, and several others, I'd like to shake their hands. I loved the way they drew and animated the character's bodies. The colors were also very great. Lots of eye candy.

if you saw the script where did you see it? And besides why the heck should he say "I swear it?" thats just retard! He says "I wont die" Besides he dont say "I swear it" In the Manga........

The name of the song is call "ginyu transformation" I know it has nothing to do with it but its. The same song also plays when ginyu swaps bodies and when Goku finishes off Freiza.

just once i wished they created a villian that vegeta would be able to defeat, i mean he did try with buu, but we all no how that worked out, but yeh, i guess well never see that... oh well

Yeah Bruce Faulconer's music makes me like the Funimation version the best. The music when Cell is getting blown away is the Ginyu Transformation music from way back before the Frieza Saga.

The Super Form doesn't eat up his energy it just slow him down because of all the body mass, Trunks had the power to beat Cell but Cell told him he was too slow. He gained energy but to what price?

It's actually stated by Cell himself that he could take out the entire Solar System with one blow in his "Super Perfect" Form.

Vegeta was just as strong as everyone else. After Perfect Cell defeated him the first time he did a bit more training in the time chamber. This made him a lot stronger, but the Super Vegeta form he kept using slowed him down and ate up a lot of energy fast. If it wasn't so speed and energy consuming he would be on par with Goku.

Hey everyone, i realised something :D RIGHT AT THE MOMENT at 9:06 when Vegeta's attack hits cell, higher the volume up about half way, for some reason it makes it seem alot more dramatic when the music goes louder :D

I still think as vegeta as powerful-er as everyone else :D Like Piccolo, krillin and everyone else's attacks were doing nothing, vegetas knocked the wind out of him :D
